Royalties:
Royalties are payments made to authors when customers purchase their work.
Payment terms can vary in various situations, and depend partly on the length of the work, market conditions, and several other factors.
For poetry and short stories, our usual policy is to offer a single, one-time flat fee paid to you in return for the non-exclusive right to publish and distribute the work as we see fit. You retain copyright and all other rights to the work, including the right to resell it to others or publish it in other venues at any time you may see fit.
For novels, the situation is somewhat different. We may offer you a flat fee as we would for a short story, or we may in some cases offer royalties. This means you would get a percentage of the price for each book sold. We may or may not offer advances for a particular novel.
You are not obligated to accept our offer unless you choose to.
